My Story

I’ve always been interested in how we “work” as humans – we all experience thoughts and feelings in ways that are both unique and totally relatable at the same time.

This childhood curiosity has remained with me and ultimately led me to my career as a therapist.  I am passionate about this work that allows me to journey alongside clients to heal old pains and experience their most meaningful lives.

Underlying my philosophy is a belief in universals:

  • That we are wired for human connection.  We struggle when we feel isolated and we thrive when we feel connected.
  • That at our core, we all seek to live our most authentic and value driven lives.
  • That our power for imagination sometimes works against us but can be harnessed in healthy, positive, productive ways.

I value trust and a safe, collaborative relationship from which we can explore the more vulnerable truths that bring someone to therapy.  I work from an eclectic approach, primarily driven by a mindfulness-based, holistic view of therapy that honors our vital connection to our body and the interconnectedness of our experiences.  While I work with a range of clients and issues, I specialize in women’s issues, trauma, and eating disorders.

In my personal life, I find nourishment through spending time with family and friends, meditation and breathwork, singing musical theater and attending shows on the New York theater scene, immersing myself in novels and historical biographies, and practicing yoga.
